What to do next

Now that I have the storyboard on the blog I am going to think about starting to film the trailer, I will try to make the shots as close to the storyboard as possible. Once I have got all of my raw footage I will need to work on music for it which I will make using garage band.

Locations

The locations I have chosen for various shots in my trailer have had to be thought out quite carefully to get the right feel for the film. For the station I think southend Victoria might be suitable however I do have the issue of safety as I can’t have people running around a crowded station fighting. To overcome this I have had to make the scenes in the station quite sedate, so the amount of action I will be able to film there will be limited. I don’t think this will affect the outcome of the scenes as the character may not want to make a scene and draw attention to himself so I should be able to adhere to the health and safety issues while producing the same drama in the trailer. The red circle on the picture indicates where I am going to film my high angle security camera shot from as it has a view of the station entrance.

The woodland chase scene will have to be filmed at night to achieve the right lighting effects so the audience won’t be able to see much of the surrounding scenery, I will have to film in a way that shows the audience the audience where the scene is set but as the shot is first person this should be quite easy. I have picked a number of locations for this scene and I think that a public park will be the best place to film. As I won’t be using any “weapon” props in this scene that shouldn’t be an issue however a group of teenagers running around in woods at night may cause concern if anyone else is around. I am going to make signs, which I can easily put; around the area I will film in saying something like “Filming in progress”. I think that this should counter any concern people may feel to us being there.
The house where the character and his flatmate live should be easy to use as it is a private residence we will be able to use “weapon” props although the scene doesn’t call for it however it may add another level of atmosphere to the scene.
