Magazine Research

When making my magazine cover I wanted it to look as close to the real thing as possible. I looked at several magazines including Empire and Total Film and decided to use Total Film as a template and just add my film in.

DVD Designs

The DVD designs we're done after looking at such covers as "Unbreakable", I liked the dark background with the name of the film in bold colour.

Intertextuality

During the research for my production I came accross many films which I borrowed from for the final piece. It is very hard to create an entirley original production as almost everything is intertextual in one way or another. It can be argued that even using the same camera angles could be classed as borrowing from another film which used it.
I looked at many films of the same genre as my own during research and used many conventions I found for my production. The trailer for "Hot Fuzz" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kckt9sqz1p4 gave me the an idea about how I used editing, the first few shots being longer and containing more dialogue than the rest. This followed by the fast paced action filled shots which follow create a calm atmosphere then bombard the audience. This is how the film works using Todorov's narrative structure and reflects this in the trailer.
This use of borrowing from another text means I will be able to reference it in my evaluation to show where I got the idea and to will also show that my trailer is postmodern.
